Literacy- 20 Minutes
Read: Look at books by yourself, with a family member, or on epic. You could listen to me read a kite book. The link is at the bottom of the page next to the read picture.
Watch the Letter Factory: For a good review of all the letters and sounds watch Leap Frog's, Letter Factory. You can find the video on Netflix or Youtube.
ABC Book: This week do pages; W, X, Y, and Z. Write the letter on top and draw a picture that starts with that letter. Your child may need help with the letters W , X and Z since we did not learn about them at school.
Chalk Letter Jump: Write chalk letters on the driveway or sidewalk. Call out letters for your child to jump on.
Journal Writing: Have your child draw their favorite summer activity. After they are done, have them tell you what they drew.
Math- 20 Minutes
Go Fishing for Numbers: Make simple paper fish and write the numbers 1-20 in them. Put all the fish in the pond with the numbers down so they can't see them. Have you child catch a fish and tell what number they caught. You could switch it up and put the numbers face up and then call out a number for them to catch.
Count to 100: Count with your child to 100! You could go on Youtube and watch Jack Hartmann's, "Let's Get Fit". He counts to 100 and does exercises while they count.
Play Go Fish: Play the card game Go Fish with a family member.
Make shape ocean animals: Use shapes to make ocean animals.
Sort and count: Sort coins by kind. After all coins have been sorted, answer these questions. How many of each kind? Which has the most? Which has the least?

Ocean Animal exercises: Exercise like ocean animals. Flap your wings and fly like a seagull, swim like a fish, jump like a dolphin, walk like a crab, stand on one foot like a flamingo, and wiggle like a jellyfish. Try to think of other ocean animals that you could exercise like!
Blow bubbles: Go outside and blow bubbles like a fish.
Have a dance party: On a nice day go outside and have a picnic lunch.
Fine Motor- 20 Minutes
Make a sandcastle: Build a sandcastle. If you don't have sand, you can use something that you do have to build your castle. Some examples could be; blocks, recycled items, marshmallows, or things found in nature.
Make a water color ocean picture: Draw a picture of the ocean animals with crayons on a white piece of paper. Then, paint over the the animals with blue watercolor paint to make it look like the animals are in the water. You can make blue watercolor paint by putting the tip of a blue maker in a cup with some water.
Water fun: Lay a towel down on the floor. Fill a storage container half full of water. Put various measuring cups, spoons and containers, like bowls or water bottles for the students to fill. Have them count how many scoops it takes to fill something up and estimate what holds more or less. You could do the same with oatmeal, beans, beads or anything else small that you have on hand.
Play a board game: Teach child how to play a game. Take turns fairly, don’t always let your child go first. Also, don’t always let your child win. Practice being happy for whoever wins. Emphasize the fun aspect of spending time doing something together.
Play with seashells and play dough: Take seashells and put play dough on top to make an imprint.
